Quebec’s Proposed Prayer Ban ‘Like Forbidding Thought Itself,’ Montreal Archbishop Says

Archbishop Christian Lépine of Montreal, shown in a 2017 photo, has written a public letter opposing the Quebec government’s plan to ban public prayer.

Archbishop Lépine said the proposal by Quebec Premier François Legault to end prayer in public places goes squarely against the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
