Ways to Give

Offertory Envelope Program – Drop off or Mail

Our Automatic Giving (ACH) Program – Sign up today!

  • St. Patrick Parish has partnered with the myEoffering program for the convenience of those who prefer automatic donations from their bank accounts.  Setting up a recurring online giving saves the natural resources required to manufacture and send collection envelopes, and saves you from always having to locate the envelope for the week – writing a check – and remembering to bring it with you when you come to church.

Don’t want to share your financial info with anyone? Your bank is your friend!

  • Consider using your bank’s Web Bill Pay option.  Simply log into your banks internet portal and set up a recurring transaction whereby you direct your bank to send a check to St. Patrick Church on a schedule of your choosing – whether weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.  And, if you put your envelope # in the memo line it’d be most helpful (it’ll be recorded as a donation from you whether or not you include your envelope #; it’s just that having the number on the check makes it easier for us to record).
  • Using this method of giving, you don’t need to share your financial info with anyone – and yet you can automate your giving.  And since most financial institutions absorb the cost of the postage (when using Web Bill Pay) this method of giving is less expensive than writing a manual check and sending it to the parish.

Make a Legacy Gift

  • A simple, yet popular, way to make a legacy gift is through your Will. With the help of an attorney, you specify a dollar amount, asset, or percentage of your estate that you want St. Patrick Parish to receive upon your death. You also have the option of naming the parish as a remainder beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of your estate.  You can find more bequest information here.
  • You can also use this free tool to write a legal will in 20 minutes or less, and include the language necessary to create a bequest in your plans.

Gifts of Appreciated Assets

  • Stocks, mutual funds, etc. are a wonderful way to support our parish, allowing you to avoid income taxes on the capital gains portion of your appreciated assets. You can make a charitable gift by transferring these assets to the parish. As a qualified charitable organization, we can sell the asset without any capital gain.  You save on capital gains taxes – and possibly income taxes too.   Your financial advisor can help explain these benefits to you.
  • Donations of stock are generally handled through our Financial Advisor at Edward Jones.  For more information on donations of stock, mutual funds, etc., please contact Fr. Trask at 440.987.9873 or

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions

  • If you are over 70 ½, you can make a simple and easy gift by donating part of your IRA’s Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to our parish. This option allows you to fulfill any RMD and avoid paying income tax by instructing your IRA administrator to make the transfer directly from your IRA to a qualified charitable organization such as our parish.
  • Because an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution will reduce your taxable income (for distributions up to $100,000), these gifts are not eligible for a charitable income tax deduction. Before making a decision, talk to your financial advisor and IRA custodian for more information, including changes in the tax law for the current tax year.  You will also need the parish’s Tax ID number, which is: 34-0992408.

Matching Gifts

  • Many companies match charitable donations to schools or churches. You can double your gift to our parish by contacting your company’s human resources department for a matching gift form.
