US-Iran Talks Collapse as Vance Cites Nuclear Impasse and Catholic Leaders Call for Peace

US Vice President JD Vance (C) walks with Pakistan’s Chief of Defense Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshall Asim Munir (L) and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar after arriving for talks with Iranian officials in Islamabad on April 11, 2026.

The high-level face-to-face talks in Pakistan followed weeks of military confrontation that began in late February and produced a tenuous two-week ceasefire, which ends April 22.
